  In the Birmingham real estate market, many quality developments are offering new homes in every price range.  Birmingham offers something for everyone. New home buyers can purchase in a new subdivision or build on a lot in an older subdivision or community. 

New home buyers have a choice of a production home, sometime called a track home, or a custom home.

  • Production/track homes are homes that are similar with different elevations in a subdivision, or a builder will build on scatter lots in an area.. Price ranges from the low $100,000 (in some areas less than $100,000) .  Upgrades in exterior structure and interior will affect the price.
  • Custom homes in subdivisions and on scattered lots, again location determine the price, can be in the multi-million dollar price range.  A buyer can pick the plan and make changes.

The biggest advantage in purchasing a home currently under construction is the opportunity to select colors, paint-counter tops- flooring- and other assessments (it can be called semi-custom).
